Our pets are like members of the family. They share our lives and our homes, and we form strong bonds with them. As a result, they can be sensitive to the moods and energy in the home. If there is tension or conflict, they may become agitated or withdrawn. Conversely, if the home is a happy and relaxed place, they will reflect that energy. In other words, our pets are like living barometers, reflecting what is happening in the home. This can be both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, it can be helpful to have an animal companion who can provide some emotional insight into what is going on in the house. On the other hand, it can be difficult to have a pet who is constantly mirroring the negativity in the home. Either way, it is clear that our pets play an important role in our lives and our relationships.
Below are some examples I’ve come across so far, of what this reflecting might look like:
Cat throwing up all over the carpet – the message was this was due to all the arguments in the house creating negativity. Easy to see the cat could not ‘stomach’ the energy being expressed.
Cat having diabetes and needing insulin injections – the cat’s person had lost the joy/sweetness in her life and the cat was reflecting this.
Dogs and cats with tumors in various locations – someone in the home is holding in anger about a situation – the location of the tumor will give guidance as to what the person is angry about.
Injuries to the legs – this is indicating that someone in the home is resisting or reluctant to move forward with what they want to do.
Kidney/Bladder infections – this is indicating there is something toxic in the environment (people or actual toxins) that need to be removed.
Cataracts – this indicates that someone in the home is not willing to see what’s going on around them.
Ear infections – this indicates that someone in the home is not willing to hear or listen to something going on around them.
There are probably many more examples of ailments that our pets contract, but the thing I want you to notice is that the pet is reflecting what is going on in the home, so it will be important to look at things that are going on with the people in the home to better understand what the message might be. I had a veterinarian tell me he noticed that pets many times will have the same diagnosis as their owner.
Animals are our great reflectors and it is important to take a step back and look at what is being reflected in our lives by these gracious reflectors. As soon as we make adjustments in our lives, our pets will immediately get better because there is no longer the negative situation to reflect.
